My System Specs

Default Does everything look right?

I just want make sure I've got everything set as efficiently as possible before the Chimp Challenge starts. I've also done the whole Flush Interval thing for ATI folding as Zero recommended.

Looks good. Can you try shutting down both GPU clients, letting the SMP client finish a few percent, and then see what the time per frame for the SMP client is?

Sure can. You thinking I could possibly get more PPD out of just the SMP without the GPUs going?

How many frames did it run for without the GPU clients? HFM will average out the TPF over the last few frames. It would be easier if I could just see the output in the command prompt window or the log file.

The reason for this is that your PPD from the SMP looks a bit low, so I'm wondering if that's just the kind of performance you're getting or if the GPU clients are slowing you down. Once we figure that out, I can recommend an ideal configuration for you.

I let it run 7 frames, although I've got it to determine PPD by the last 3 frames.

Since it's got a bit of length, here's the logs. Oh, and I only started the "-smp 7" with the last couple of WUs.

Looks all right to me. However you're better off doing -bigadv folding on your Core i7. You'll get a lot more points with the bonus factored in.

Do you have a passkey? I forgot how to get the bonus so check the stickies, but it involves completing 10WU of something in order to be eligible for the bonus.

I've got the passkey and I'm pretty sure I'm over 10WU's. As for -bigadv, that's not going to work since this is mainly a gaming rig. So, F@H is off for about a third of the day.

When money magically appears in my lap, I'll get a -bigadv rig in a heartbeat. But, it's hard to buy stuff when I'm dreaming.

When I was running at 3.8 on my i7, I was able to shut down for 4 hours a day and still make the deadline easily on the -bigadv's. You might want to try a couple of units.

Alright, looks like the GPU client isn't making a dent. You're good to go with all three .
