You can still fold on your 5870 with GPU2, and I don't see why you wouldn't fold with your i7 either.

You can definately fold with your 5870, just don't expect a lot of ppd. My 5850 Toxic only gets about 4500 ppd.

4500 is still a very respectable amount of PPD.

I had power efficiency in mind. my 4870 only got 2k ppd or something while my gtx260 used to get 8k. the 4870 used more power. I just don't believe in folding on ati anymore. I'll see if I can get a 4650 in my folding rig, if I can't I probably won't have the i7 on 24/7 either.
