The original smp2 client (lasted about 4 days) did not play nice with the non-99% gpu usage wus even with afinity/priorty software running. well reported over on the fah forums.

Here's some motivation, Looks like team TPU is in the race. We should keep a eye on their ppd, and always try to stay above them leading up to the race. I'm thinking maybe tomorrow I might start folding under Beavers_Gone_Bananas just to help stay in front of TPU ppd wise. Let the games begin

That's true, but it was a minor issue and only lasted a short time.

Just so we're absolutely clear here.... what day / time / timezone does the contest start? I'll do my best to time it so that WUs finish as close to the begining as possible..... ;)

He's got Corsair 550's. I'd guess you're probably good to go.

It starts May 5, but I'm pretty sure that we are allowed to start folding for it sooner and with team TPU being our closest competitor we should try to stay in front of them. In staid of timing it right May 5th, It would be nice if everyone was folding for Beavers_Gone Bananas at 100% a few days ( weeks) before the race started, Get some fast practice laps in before the big race so come Race day we dont want to be slow off the start.

Heh....

That's why I'll switch my smp's over 16 hrs prior and my GPU's 8 hrs prior. :)

My concern is that we don't want to tip our hand too early. Sounds like we may be getting some extra help from outside sources (like NCIX) for the contest. If everybody were folding for a week before the contest starts, the competition will see what we're putting out for PPD and adjust accordingly.
