So I went to confirm permission again on one of my 150ppd borgs.S'all good be online for CC.

That aint the good news.

My little brother agreed to lend me his gaming rig for a month.

So that will be another 5-6 kppd (another gts250).

-----

I should be firmly in the 40Kppd+ area.

That'll make 8 rigs , If I can get more you know I will !

The current issues with lack of WUs might actually work in our favour.... we've got a good mix of all different types of WUs.

No, it will not work in our favour. HWC does not have more of a mix of clients than any of the other big teams, and SMP2 can provide a very nice PPD boost for the team. If there is a shortage of workunits, then it hurts everyone equally.

For a long time using the SMP client was a lonely business around here, that has started to change with arrival of SMP2 though.

I think you could probably find some of the older members of the Team that still hesitate to use it because of the difficulties they had with it. I have never had problems with it but trying to get others to use it at one time was like pulling teeth.

I just fired up a couple of instances of SMP2 and it was no sweat. Just download, run install.bat, type in the Windows password, unblock as prompted by Windows firewall, and run the client. Zero's guide explains it pretty quickly.

Heh... some of us "old timers" tried it when it first came out and it didn't play nice in the sandbox with gpu clients... those issues are now resolved and (aside from wu issues) I haven't had any problems at all with the smp2 client.

Yup the guide was well done and SMP2 plays nice now, but remember back when things were not always quite that easy ?.

That's how our Rosetta Team got started...

It was always possible to get the SMP client to run nicely with GPU clients using affinity software like WinAFC and Bill2's Process Manager.
