I'm not to sure about that, Overclock.net gave them a good run this year. One thing we have going for us that they dont is Nation pride. Their fanboy powered, While we have a Country to call apon. We just have to get the word out. .

There were stories originally that the EVGA guys received help from the mothership (ie. EVGA) to get extra gear to win the CC.

Apparently this was not true.

BUT a number of members bought extra Core I7 rigs, OC'd them, and added them to the mix and timed their BigAdv units to "unleash" on Day 1. Apparently there were a lot of "for sale" parts after the Chimp Challenge on their forums, so this may have been the case.

Overclock.NET did not do this, and ended up losing, albeit by a lot less than was thought considering EVGA's first day lead.
