Look very good, but is it worth for folding..... To be able to have huge bonus , you have to use client with 24 cores ( if they are available one day) .... for the price of this beast you can probably build 4, if not more I7 920 folding rigs, and that give a lot more slot for GPU.

Plus two 6-core Xeons that will be coming. 24 cores (12 real + 12 HT) at 3.5 ghz with another 40K PPD from GTX 260s. I'm selling the FARM.

But not the folding FARM :)

one box, more expensive but one box. in the end $ spent per ppd shouldnt be too bad :)

dual psus probably.

Its going to need a special power supply designed by EVGA given all the power connectors on the motherboard alone, plus the requirements if the slots are filled. Unless they expect people to create their own system for it with 2 or three power supplies.

i see 8 and 6 pin power connectors, nothing out of this world :)

lets see...board - 100 watts just in case, a pair of xeons, another 200 watts. 6 video cards...hmmm...6x150watts...


total : 1200 if me calculator is correct. one psu. or two 850's from corsair or seasonic...not sure the house line wil ltake that much tough...estimated ppd? hmmm....6x7k+2x25k....im probably wrong about bigadv yelds on it so hmmmmm
