-Bigadv is still better for i7's. My i7 860 was doing about 24k PPD with -Bigadv and does about 14k PPD with the new WinSMP client on project 6015.

Kasson alluded to the fact that -Bigadv projects will be switching over the A3 cores soon, and since I've read A3 behaves similarly on both Windows and Linux, I am speculating that native Windows -Bigadv projects may be coming down the pike in the coming days.

I am still trying to figure out this new bonus system on my i7 since both updated fahspy and fahmon don't seem to have a clue about the bonus. Fahspy says i have a bonus factor of about 5 but i dont know what value thats multiplied on to or if at all.

I also already flagged my smp2 for bidadv flags for if i stay on this since it does run the cpu a good 20C cooler and if i stick with it over switching back to vmware.

FahMon hasn't been updated for bonus points in SMP2. HFM.net or FahSpy work.

As I said in the other post I think it's the actual point value of the WU times the bonus equals the credit value.

-bigadv won't work on the A3 core yet you still need a VM or native linux...

HFM does not work for me and i was running both the latest stable and now beta version. Current ppd listed is 5681 ppd from hfm.net for my project 6012 A3 work unit.

I also don't think its the credit times the bonus factor since that would be even less pdd. That work unit is 470 credit, fahspy says i have a bonus factor of 5.3585, that works out to under 3k ppd which is even less then what fhm.net or fahspy are telling me but both are saying around 6k which seems wrong for a 3.8GHz i7

I know it wont work bidadv, i am just leaving the flag in there so i dont have to remember to set it if/when they release it for the smp2

You are confusing WU credit with ppd.

The WU = 470 points (not credit) = What the WU is actually worth.
Credit = 470 x Bonus Factor = What you get for the completed WU
PPD = Credit x Number of WU's completed per day.

Without the -smp 8 flag you are probably only using 4 cores and that ppd is not that far off.

Post a screenie of your HFM.

Heh... so I've got my windoze client started, got affinity set for 3 cores and all of the gpu on the 4'th. Still waiting to see if the smp is producing anything. (damn small units for smp.......).

Not sure if it's actually doing anything.... been at least 5 minutes and hasn't hit 1% yet which I figure it should have on a 470 point wu if I'm to expect something like 4K+ on a three core rig...... All three cores are at 100% though.....

Actually 5+ mins a step would be about right, these WU's aren't that small it's the bonus that makes up for the low initial points. My Q9450 is taking over 5min a step sometimes depending on usage and it's faster.

Just took a look at the psummary chart and the p6012's have all most the same number of atoms as the old 2653's (1760pt) WU's that were the previous SMP speed demons...
