So have you completely sworn off of GPU folding 3.0Charlie?

From a hardware purchasing POV.... Bigadv is probably the best way to go these days.... that way you can get a "this gen" ATI card for gaming, and not have to worry about what kind of PPD it puts out.

Power requirement vs. ppd vs. setup vs. cost? Bigadv all the way. Folding rig is using an ATI X300SE as a GPU...

I take back the bad things I said about PPD on the latest batch..... just discovered that my latest OC profile only OC'd the main card.... going to have to wait until I get another WU to know how it compares to the 353 WUs.

Yep. I dumped a 9800GTX+ and replaced it with the i7 920 and gained 30K PPD at roughly the same power.

You guys better hope the -bigadv units stick around for a long while.

Still no official word on the new projects, can't find much in the way of posts about them either.

Looks like Stanford just dumped some out into the wild...

Just got two of these. Running about 8300-8400PPD on my GTX260 and 4200PPD on my 9600GSO.

How does that compare to a typical 353 on your rig?

My 9600GSO typically does about 4000PPD on 353s, and the GTX260 does about 8200-8900PPD (even a 1-second change in frame time can drastically change the PPD estimate, so I'm not sure what the exact average is). So I'd say these units are about on par with 353s, maybe a bit faster.
