Ok, thanks.

There must be a lot of overhead which allows it to run both VMWare VMs, and Microsoft ones.

What did you do wrong? As for the dl, the FAH site seems to have problems on my side too. Is it very slow...

Something really odd: the file extension is .tgz, but if your d/l the file it becomes .gz. It's missing the "t"...

Found it: They changed servers, and the new d/l site is this one: http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/release/FAH6.00beta1-Linux.tgz

Found here: Folding-community.org :: View topic - SMP Client download link

John

edit: well with the new FAH client, a new link: http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/release/FAH6.00beta2-Linux.tgz

Which following line of code? tar xzvf FAH6.00beta1-Linux.tgz? Like I said, the file extention looks different, I think it is missing the "t" in .tgz. I may be wrong, I don' really know much about Linux.

Sorry to cut in here, but my time is limited...... :)

Has anybody tried to install the new 7.10 distro as an upgrade? If so did it affect the folding install at all (i.e. the lib 32)?

Nope, didn't even knew there was a new version... actually I'm nowhere near my folding rigs.

I'm fighting to revive my Dell laptop that just died.....
