Asrock didn't really start producing boards that could be called "enthusiast" until after they split. Up until about 3 years ago they were strictly in either the "super cheap" or "novelty" bin.

asrock are stable, traditionally not good overclockers, things may have changed. they keep it uber cheap layout wise, so dont look for 32 phase filtering..altough again i havent kept up with latest products from them.

I've owned a couple Asrock boards in the last year and they both were very stable and excellent overclockers (for a budget board). Very good bang for the buck... would not hesitate to buy another.

ASRock is still a subsidiary of ASUS; the brand name was just spun off into a separate company. They might be using Pegatron to do their manufacturing.
