Good, I'll try to keep up on this one. I managed to stay lucky with my Q6600 rigs all the way up to 3.6 on all of them, but backed them all down to 3.5 for safety margins. I know nothing about overclocking video cards so I'll be watching this one in hopes of getting the shaders on my GTX260/216 cards above 1500 with excellent stability. They'll go up more, but they have their ways of letting me know when they don't like it.

Heh.... already had to place one. GPU1 (first inside gpu) was running a 10101 at around 90c!!! the backside on it was freaking hot!!!! slapped a scythe in directing air across it which dropped temps by a good 10c+. It even dropped the temps on the second GPU by a fair bit (wicking away heat from the heatsink side which removed some sympathetic heat generated on the second card).

Only card that's currently worrysome is the third in the series.... no real way to affect temps on that one over and above the fans I have drawing heat away like the previous cards.

The fourth card in line (cooler open to air) runs 20c+ cooler than the other 3.

I agree whats the point of going with used cards when the price is so close to on new. Do you have it setup in your Tech station?

Yep, sitting on my techstation. I'll post up some images once I get the fan placement figured out. I was actually a bit surprised.... these GTs are actually a bit shorter than the GSOs were.

Definitely made a difference in temps (see above), but getting a bit loud, and damn does that rad ever need a good cleaning!!!! :)

Heh..... yeah somewhere under all of that is a mobo..... as it stands I've got a total of 8 1350 RPM YLs, and 3 2000 RPM Scythes running on it (2 on the cards, 1 on the res for a bit of extra loop cooling).

This OC run seems to be going fine after 12+ hours so I'll bump it a bit more this evening.

The fan situation is a bit on the loud side.... once I get the OC dialed in I'll try swapping the Scythes for YLs and see how much of a difference in temps I see. I'm also thinking that I might benefit from some form of shroud (I'm thinking dollar store foam rubber crafting sheets) on the top fans to maximize airflow, and possibly moving the aft fan to the other side and drawing air through the back plate.

i see your top fan removing hot air, did you try "make" a cold air intake on each side of gpu(under pci-e plug and in pci slot vent)?

I'll "prettyfy" it once I get the OC dialed in and know what my actual cooling requirements are. That said.... it is a workbench PC, so asthetics aren't the top concern. ;)

It's already there. The backplates on these cards take two slots with the second one being an open grill. I'm considering taking advantage of that grill by "pulling" air through from the rear rather than trying to push it through from the front.
