Yeah, I don't have the patience to try putting together 4 used cards, and finding 4 with open fans on them would be even harder. That said... at just slightly over $100 apiece (small PP discount) they're not much more than most folks would normally ask for a used 8800/9800 GT card, and I'll get the EVGA warranty to go with them.

The evga has a two slot backplate (takes up two slots on the rear). That's not an issue for my setup (images above) as I've got room for the last card's plate to hang over the edge, but most (if not all) 4 slot motherboards require a single slot card in the 4'th slot to allow installation in a case.

Not even sure if that's still possible. I know Nvidia buggered up the physx drivers a while back to prevent them from working with an ATI card as primary. There's probably a work-around by now, but you should double check before you invest in a Nvidia card for Physx.

Heh.... In all honesty, judging from the on-line images of the 9800GT cards, I doubt anybody will be able to tell the difference between them and the old GSO cards once they're installed..... :)

There are a handful of cases that have 8 expansion slots including the new lan-cool line, which is why I went with the lan-cool K62 instead of maybe waiting for the new CM...

What kind of PPD do you get out of your 250's these days? Most of what I've read leads me to believe I'll see pretty well the same on the GT's, but the 5K+ numbers I've seen thrown around seem to be as dated at the 3.5K #s I saw for the GSOs when I bought them (closer to 3K with current WUs).
