GPU client 100% cpu core utilization? hd4200 folding?
 

Hey guys, 2 question:

I installed the gpu client and sometimes, it uses up 100% of a single core on my phenom 720 3.6ghz. The process is called Does this mean my cpu is a bottleneck? Right now, cpu utilization is jumping around from 3-7%. What's going on with the client? Also, my gtx260 (1570mhz sp:shok:) sings one note through entire wu, but sings in burst-fire during other wu's, am I doing something wrong or does stanford just send out different kinds of wu's? Yea some folding pro out there is going /facepalm after reading my newbie question lol:haha:

Second question, my 785g's integrated hd4200 has 40 sp's and 8 of them can fold, a quick google showed that I should be getting around 300ppd and up to 400 if I feel like ocing the tiny chip. Is it possible to get an integrated chip folding? Does anyone have experience with it?

Yes that FahCore_11 is the actual Core process that is being used to do the folding of the selected WU.

As for the Music you are hearing from your card, that is normal too, Stanford puts pauses on some of the more complex WU's , the 1888's in particular in order to save on the Thermals of your cards.

Its perfectly Normal.

Leave your Onboard alone for Folding. I would at least.

the onboard...it may do a hundred or so ppd. but itll lag as crazy.

so if I get the onboard folding, I've gotta install ati drivers too?

somethings really not right there. whats ya ppd? and no dont bother with onboard.

hmm I was too lazy to install fahmon lol. The 'f@hviewer' for nvidia tells me I'm pumping out "600ns/day" while cpu is at 100%. I did notice something in the fah control panel tho, it's kinda weird... came with the gpu client =\

put it to slightly highest, bar to the right. all the way.

It should solve your issue. Also, don't use the viewer because it will kill your performance.

Why the ATI Client? The OP has a GTX260... but I concur: do not use the viewer. Install either Fahmon or Fahspy.

Oh dear, I missed that completely. I saw the 100% CPU usage and the HD4200 in the title and I assumed the problem was with an ATI client. My bad.
