Smile lemonlime's new and improved F@H tech station

Well, I finally got all four slots filled on the MSI 790FX-GD70, so I thought I'd share some pics

Specs are as follows:
  • AMD Phenom II X2 550 - Unlocked to 4 cores @ 3.4GHz
  • MSI 790FX-GD70 Motherboard
  • OCZ Platinum PC3-12800 @ 6-6-6-20 timings, 1333MHz
  • Corsair TX750 PSU

Cards:
  1. Nvidia GTS 250 (830MHz core/2000MHz shaders) - EVGA SC
  2. Nvidia 8800GT (792MHz core/1890MHz shaders) - EVGA SC
  3. Nvidia 8800GT (685MHz core/1833MHz shaders) - EVGA
  4. Nvidia 8800GT (702MHz core/1890MHz shaders) - XFX Alpha Dog Edition

The spacing is good between the 8800GTs, but the bulky double slot cooler on the GTS 250 is a tight fit.

With the CPU and all four cores folding, power consumption is over 550W at the socket. The Corsair TX750 is handling the load without breaking a sweat so far, although exhaust is pretty warm and the fan has ramped up in speed a bit.

This single rig should be good for around 30K PPD. Looking good so far!

Temps don't exceed 60 degrees on any of the cards. The 38mm panaflows help quite a bit with that, although the rig is very loud with all cards at full bore and the case fans.

I must say, I admire your efforts there. Nice neat and tidy. Weather you thought it up as you went or planned it that way from the start, I like the way it came out. I believe that PSU is among the physically larger ones and its nice to see it on what appears to be a lower shelf. My compliments sir!. I guy could fabricate an actual enclosure for that is he wanted, but nah........ looks cool as it is.

nice. happy you added the second fan. now you can add another 120 or two but it should be good...*looks for temps..found!

if you are hardcore you can create a custom box to better direct the airflow, i think you cn get rid of stock shrouds and fans :)

Looks great, but you're missing the "gheto" standoffs/anti-vibe for your fans...... ;)

oy wilson, that first card is probably missing some airflow on the vrm's and what not!

Been running like that OC'd for over a month 24/7 so I don't think it's a problem. :)
