Looks like it could be an intresting folding board, though perhaps not the best PPD/$ ratio, but Dual 1366 CPU's, 7 PCI-16 (8X Electrical) looks like it would make for a system with massive PPD potential.

Looks good to me.

The issue, though, is with combining Bigadv folding with GPU folding. GPU folding under Wine in Linux basically halts your Bigadv process, so that's not an option. Meanwhile, there is no virtualization process for dual Nehalem processors, as only VMware Workstation 7 supports 16 cores - but it can only support 4 cores per physical processor, so eight logical cores per processor is out.

Having said that, you could conceivably run two slower Bigadv processes concurrently, but then you'd have to get $1,500 processors because with the lack of overclocking, no E-series class of Xeon would be able to complete on time with only eight cores running.

edit - I should mention that Virtualbox supports 16 cores too, which is ironic considering its SMP capabilities are nothing short of repugnant.

SuperMicro make nice server boards, but that's a fair chunk of change to drop before adding CPUs. And I think 3.0Charlie has a 16-core folding box using a setup with a couple of 55xx Xeons, if I remember correctly using VirtualBox and some help from LinuxFah on the foldingforum.org.
