Yeah, I know. Double reply. But the update is in: 48 646 points. Not bad, single WU - no GPUs in there.

Now that's some nice points. Spread over what, two days, it beats a pair of GX2's easy.

Good to see you getting back in the game, now fire up the GPU...

I'll be nice and leave that one alone, you are younger than I am by a fair chunk though...

See above.

Work is done for the season unless I find something short-term for the winter, You'll be wishing I was still working soon enough.

Speaking of those things, I saw this post about the FahCore_14 WU's by cbuchner1 on the F@H forums and laughed. We used to pray for the 1888's just to get a break from the 's...

Are Pande Labs serious? ~25% GPU load on average, with occasional short 100% bursts? The new GPU-z 0.3.8 has nice load graphs for the GPU utilization (also for the memory controller load and video decoding unit). Also Temperatures are 20 degrees celsius lower compared to running Fah Core 11

It's like letting a Porsche engine idle.

If this trend continues, I will let Seti@Home use the other 75% Or wait... why not let 3 FaH cores run on the same GPU. I shall try that. EDIT: did not work (got guarded run errors on the second and third processes).
This was the response by Nathan_P, appropriate parts bolded by me;

Core 14 is designed to run in bursts, the periods of low activity are where it checks its calculations.
A lot of people have complained about the heat and thus hardware stress being given out by core11 projects and welcome the rest that a core 14 WU gives them. Cooler is better.
It is not recommended to run more than one client per gpu, all you will do is slow everything down.

BTW heat kills silicon chips. Ask Stanford to send you a load of 511 pointers - you will soon have more heat than your heatsinks can handle.

ROFL - we did love those 511s...

Can't fold with the GX2 ATM, since GPU2 is not supported under Linux.

All three of my nVidia GPUs have 1888-point units...

And before anyone says something about 511-pointers, take a guess what my 4870 is working on right now. Talk about the best of both worlds .

Yeah, unfortunately. And if I ever sell it, you are the only buyer.

Well hopefully you can find a way to get it working on something else up there eventually.
If not, hopefully I'll have the coin should it ever come to that.

And Alas, we fold onward my friend.

Don't even joke about those things.

That bites, is it because you're using grub...

I'm just happy we're getting alot of the 353's, you can keep the rest.

All I want for Christmas is the GPU3...

@ ST; You might have had a fight for the GX2 if I hadn't had to spend $600+ on new glasses recently.

Lol I did not mention the 511s for fear they would return.

As for GPU folding...do you know if it will work under Wine? There is a subforum for this that indicates so, but I am not sure of the challenges:
Subforum Folding Forum • View forum - unOfficial Linux GPU (WINE wrapper) (3rd party support)
A long install thread: Folding Forum • View topic - NVIDIA GPU2 Linux/WINE Headless Install Guide
