So, here's the current state of my beastie:

That's the Asus GTX285 I won from the folding contest on top, an EVGA GTX285 in the middle, and a BFG 8800GTS512 on the bottom.

When the assignment server gets back up, I'll be putting out 31.5k PPD, not including bonus points for the -bigadv units ticking over on the i7. As this is my gamer, the 8800GTS may get sacrificed for a single slot card so I can get my Xonar back into the box.

Pretty sweet. What are your temps on those cards while folding?

Too hot :) 77, 74, and 65 top to bottom. The GTX285's will get water cooling. I've got one block already waiting on the bench.

I'd be willing to wager that if you sandwiched the 8800GTS, both your GTX285's would get better temps. Is that an option for you?

You're probably right DT, but can I SLI slots 1 and 3 and run the PhysX card in Slot 2? Only one way to find out, I guess. This machine's primary use is gaming a couple hours a night, the folding is my self-justification that it actually does something worthwhile when I'm not actively using it.

That depends on the board - your mobo's user guide should be able to answer that question for you before you rip the whole thing down.

And yeah, not many of my cards can remember the last time they saw the 70's either 3.0charlie! But hey, I do what I can to keep them as cool as possible.

When I see you folks talking about temps like that is when I'm glad I'm running the GTX /GTX+ /GTS250 class of cards. The only card of mine to see over 72*s is the Caliber and that's only because it's fan is still on auto.
