Hmm so it isn't me, maybe its the P2667s

With this weather i think i may stick with 2 VMwares are night when its cold out (with GPU folding) and just do GPU folding during the day to keep the room cool when i'm not in it (aka poor airflow when door is closed)

I used to get that Corestatus = FF (255). It pretty much makes all your folding useless because you don't even get partial WU. I have that problem lots of time and no one knows how to fix it or anything. I still run the Notfred client and hope for the best...

A new core update (2.10) was released recently to deal with some bad work units that have been in the wild recently. The clients would download them and then get stuck running them with extremely poor performance, but the update now causes the client to recognize and delete them until it gets a good work unit. Unfortunately, in addition to that, the new core is a fair amount slower than the old versions, so unless Stanford can release another core that brings performance back to where it used to be, you can expect to have a drop in your PPD compared to what it used to be.

Yeah there are a couple of threads about this in the folding forums with people complaining about slow Linux folding (the vmware machines uses Linux).

Hopefully a core update will fix it. Seems to affect some cpus (ie i7) more than others.

It affects my CPUs just as much as it does any i7. I've seen a 30% drop in performance with both my VMs on my C2Q machine, as well as my laptop and my secondary rig.

I'm down a good 30% on my i7. Less on the C2D (but still down). Looks like they did a pretty good overhaul. The threads I have seen don't have any official posts from Pande (just speculation by forum mods and members). Hopefully a new core will get released soon.

That's okay though, overall PPD is down, so down for us, down for them. Ranking stays the same.

Reinstalled Windows on my folding rig today. Was getting ~2600PPD on each instance of my Q6600 *~5200PPD total), and now after reinstall, I'm getting ~1900PPD for each instance on the same rig (total ~3800PPD).
