Ahah !

I've only been adding infantry at this point....couple grand ppd to get me back into the top 20, and help the other troops.

The bigger guns come out soon.

At the very least a new 260.......a 295 If I can find the cash.

You guys seen the specs for the next-gen ATI 5870? Good lord, this thing is a BEAST. 1600 stream processors! Plus they're releasing a 5870x2 alongside it. Word is $399 for the 5870, $599 for the 5870x2. Pretty ridiculous, ATI is at it again.

Yes, but will it be able to put out PPD???? You can all the stream processors in the world, but if it won't match an 8800GTX for output it's not much use to those of us who don't game a lot.

It's too bad ATI cards don't fold like NVIDIA.

Not a big boost, but got around 4K PPD more by slapping a VM on two cores and setting affinity properly.... :)

Pretty happy actually with 2.5K+ out of the 720be two core VM.

That's is pretty nice, I think I should begin to fold with my quad in a VM. However I'm not really much of one to often use VM software...

The notfred folding appliance is fairly painless for installation. Did it myself for the first time last night (this morning). Been quite a while since I ran the SMP client, and back then I was installing a full version of Linux. This was just a matter of dl + install the vmware player, dl + unzip the appliance, point the player to the file, and then using the web based utility to change the settings.

Only thing I'm not sure of now is if it's possible to have the vmware client autostart with the appliance. So far it looks like I have to manually start the appliance every time I boot. (Not that big of a deal for me as my rigs normally go weeks without shutting down).

Spent a hell of a lot longer figuring out why my XP machines weren't visible to each other on the network so that I could include the 275 on the same FahMon instance. :)
