pffft heat.

pffft electricity costs.

It's never too hot when you've got an equal amount of air conditioners for folding machines

hey! an AC can be had for about 100$ these days, which is powerful enough for a good sized room.

My gpus have seen 85c on the 511s this summer, especially when the cpu is folding. I tend to run one or the other right now, so I have not stopped folding but have scaled back. Looks like it will get cooler next week.

I actually would do the portable or room AC if I had my own house, but right now the landlord would not allow my own AC, and I don't think the circuit breaker (most of the apt is on one circuit) could handle an AC.

Not allowed to fold & use AC at the same time... using too much power, so I'll be up again in the fall

Not folding because I'm on vacation. Also it costs too much during the day, so sometimes I just fold during the night. We got the smart meter installed so we get charged less when it's off-peak hours. HOWEVER, either way, electricity is freaken expensive.

Oh, and I don't fold for the team...

I've also stopped folding for a bit now, part of it due to heat other part (which makes no bloody sense) is that my house is somehow infested with FLEAS, I've got 3 young kids (1 a baby) so we've been at the in-laws for 2 weeks now. Once I get back home (we already paid $200 for fumagator(sp?) then hopefully they all die soon as of now they are still jumping guess its a 2 weeks cycle or something? Weirdest thing is our cat has never been outside a day in its life :(

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in the other thread, but I'm shut down for the summer. My young lad hangs out in the basement where my rigs are, and it was kinda cruel to add an extra 5 - 10 degrees to the room(s) (open basement) when it was already overly hot down there.

I'll be back up in the fall, and I'll have a couple of extra PPD for both FAH & Rosetta, over and above what I was putting up earlier this year. (got a few new toys since then... ;) ).

Was on vacation for 2 weeks, also in the midst of selling my stuff locally so I haven't been bothered. Should be fully up and running again in a month or so.

Cool,It looks like our team is going to get alot of PPD this winter.I would think alot of teams are in the same boat with not folding because of the heat, but us Canadians are lucky we all get winter and need to heat our homes, so why not turn down your thermostat and turn up your pc(start folding).I do think my room being like a sauna all summer is keeping me is shape.lol, nothing wrong with a swettings a few pounds away while doing nothing but sitting at your PC.Looks like the team will be huge this winter, keep up all the good work everyone
