ncix is 35'th in total points but 23'rd in current production (click on the ppd column to sort by it)

... so they are moving up and membership is a lot higher than us .... so far ...

For 94$, that mobo is a steal.
The little rig that could seems to be performing very well ... what wu is it running and what is the tpf on it?

You may have tweaked to the max already, but if Tras will go any lower you might see a few % increase ... but don't drop the speed to do it.

I have also found that moving to 5-5-5-x 'ish will help if your mem will go over 1000 ... the p35 chipset will certainly do it and I have read about others getting over 1000 on your mem. Have you tried auto timing on the mem and bump the multipler to the max?

I have also found that the nb v setting needs to be +2 or +3 on the gigabyte boards to max your mem speed whereas bumping it isn't usually necessary on the asus p35 mobos.

Sometimes tighter timings work, but they don't perform as well as looser timings. The only way to tell for sure is to run the smp client to compare timings.

Yes, it is performing very well, crunching 2610 @ 1650 ppd (tpf is 15 minutes)... last 2610 was @ 850 ppd (I don't remember the tpf - sorry). Quite fast.

I'm not done yet on the oc, still want to tweak it a bit more. I didn't try more than 1.45V on it. So it may go higher than 3.0GHz and Ram may go higher than 1000MHz. Voltage is already at 2.1V.

NB volts are at +.1, I will try more later.

I wish I had another CPU (E6600 in mind) and have some fun with it... eBay, here I come....

No luck. Tried 5-6-6-18, 2.2V, 1.6V on the CPU and it will not boot @ 400MHz. Nothing.

Looks like I'm stuck @ 3.0... not bad for an E2140, clocked for 1.6GHz...

Just a heads up for folks who might be building a dedicated rig who plan to run XP with the SMP client.....

Don't do like I did and forget to set auto updates to wait for you to install. Failure to do this will get you back to the password screen when it reboots itself, and unless you check a couple of times a day you might end up losing a day or so of folding.

I've done that in the past.

On my dedicated wxp folding rigs i turn off autoupdate. Actually very few of my folding rigs run wxp normally ... most are dual booted into linux atm. Default in ubuntu is to ask before downloading updates.

@ Gav: how's the folding farm coming along? It's up-and-running, since you've been posting some nice numbers lately?

And you're about to pass me in the rankings...

I have two machines running right now, not really setup as a farm yet.

I'm hoping to setup the "farm" later this week and andd one more machine. I'll then try and add 1 machine per week for as long as I can.
