My System Specs

Default slow folding with GTX 280

right now my gpu is working on Project 5912 (R13, C54, G3);
Credit:1888 points,

and Fahmon says my PPD are a lowly 2450.

Logically (or mathematically), it means my gpu should take about 18 hours to do the job!

Is that normal for this project?

well, i guess it could be this particular 5912 project that's very slow, because i just started folding a Project 5765 (353 points), and the PPD is over 7000.

Anyone can tell for sure?

No you can't tell for sure... I've noticed a slight drop in PPD as well. Normally I do around 16-17K PPD and now I'm only at 15K. I run the same clients 24/7 and did not change anything in my config...

It's a little frustrating isn't it? As for the 1888's, they take a longer time, but they're better for your hardware... less strain = lower temps :)

2450PPD for your GTX280 folding a 1888 point WU is not right. Check your clock speeds to make sure that they aren't in 2D mode.

It can happen. I've had a few WUs (511s, 1888s, 472s) that took longer than others. Bugged WU? Possibly, though they always folded properly and the next one in line had proper ppd. Temps / clocks / render mode (3D) were fine.

I would not worry, as long as the temps are fine.

thanks guys; everything is running fine, temps, clocks and 3D mode;
only that particular WU was so slow. It was successfully uploaded but i don't know if it will be without errors. Fahmon said nothing about that.

If there were errors, it will be about 18 hours folding lost.

Are you folding on your CPU as well? Check the priorities.

That would happen to me if the CPU client was set to the same or higher priority as the GPU client.

i think my priorities are set ok, as you can see for yourself if you check my PPD for the GPU (folding@home), and for the CPU (Rosetta and Poem).
Core priority is set at "slightly higher".
this problem has happened only on this particular WU, as far as i know.
