Default Shader vs ppd

Hi, i check to up my shader on my 260 216, oc it is not the problem,

but to be sure, only the shader up the ppd?

can i downclock the core and ram without losing ppd?

Yup, just upping the shader processors' speed will give you higher ppds, but do not underclock your core, you might lose some points. Or try both, and see if there's a difference.

Personally, I had underclocked my 9600GSOs' core speed, just to have cooler running cards, and lost 350ppds per card.

Just leave it at stock (the core) and OC the shaders.

Bonne chance pour le folding mon vieux, et bienvenue dans l'équipe

Hey Synth, is the PPD boost worth the extra heat?

Ofcourse it is worth it! Anything helps man! Make your room/house/street a few degrees warmer! It is for a good cause afterall.

Without kidding: Just add an extra fan to blow on your card.... works well

Right now it's in a temporary case and I have a 20" floor fan blowing on it; I suppose it could withstand some oc.
