Yep i use a Belkin one as well Its a Surge protector with conserve energy button to turn of 6 sockets it comes in very handy and saves you electricity on stuff yu dont need on all the time like your Lcd or Speakers when you go to bed and you can leave yer pc on with the 2 addition sockets that are always on. I picked it up on Walmart when it was on sale for 30ish.

I have this one for the Folding rig: APC BACK-UPS RS 1300VA LCD 120V.
I have this model too, one for both the Main rig, and one for the Printer server: APC BACK-UPS 900VA 120V

Best investment I ever made.

That 900va unit is the one I currently have on my main rig. It goes to the folding rig when I get new a higher-capacity unit.

I usta just run 'surge supressors' but I've moved on to a proper UPS setup now.

I run a pair of these : APC BACK-UPS 1200VA 120V

Every part of my network , and all my rigs are on em now.

I don't worry about power issues now.

Glad yer UPS did it's job ST !

THanks Brain, I'm glad it did its job too.
Looks like everyone is running those APC's.
I'm gonna look into another brand probably soon, and I'll give you all the rundown on how it is.

As it stands, I got a Phillips as a Temp replacement rated at 2150 Joules, so I should be good for now.

What a way to end the week lol.

Have my main SMP folding rig at work temporarily; I couldn't reach the UPS and the network jack at the same time so guess which got connected. Must have had a micro-brownout that happens quite frequently because I've lost about 16K points this weekend.
