I switched from SETI because of the contest but, the need to climb higher on the team list has grabbed me. I haven't even played any games since I started folding. I should break 100K this week.

Maybe they sponsored the contest to draw folks away from SETI so we don't find the homeworld....

Hi, my name is Mike and i'm addicted to folding. With that out of the way I was wondering if the cpu and system memory make a difference in folding?

I'm so glad I could contribute to this team, let alone The Cause. I had the 15,000 points only 2 days after I started folding, and I've been folding ever since, and it's been good. I haven't kept up a PPD average over time, but I'm waiting a bit to OC my i7 and see where it takes me.

The CPU makes a difference, mainly if it is quad-core vs. dual core, and it also depends on how clocked the CPU is. Not alot of weight it held upon the RAM, but a decent amount of it (like 4GB) should be present, so that the WU's don't crap out

I need to figure out how to use my quad cores more efficiently so that each one is doing some work or something is this possible?

I do have SLI setup as well but not sure if I feel comfortable doing that dumbie dongle thingy.

Use the Affinity Changer program. It's very useful and keeps your cores working evenly. You may even want to run two instances of FAH on your C2Q.

I have yet to master the SMP, but I know you can sucessfully Run 4 Uniproccessor Clients on a Quad.
Its what I am doing right now on my AMD x4.
