My System Specs

Default 511 WUs

What makes these such a pain in the butt? My ppd goes down, my temps go way up! And what really ticks me is that I run a GTX 295 and I get 2 of them at once usually!

I drop from 5200+ PPD down to 4400 PPD when I get them so you're not alone in your frustration.

They definately kill your ppd. The 353 make up for it though. My gts250 pulls almost 1k more ppd on thos than average.

I was just going to say you take the good with the bad, just make sure you have enough to cooling to keep those cards from overheating.

I had to put another 120mm fan directly at the back of my GTX280 around the VRM(s) because if I didn't they'd be running around 120oC while processing a 511wu.

Regards,

EE

Seeing as how you have one, what is your Average on that Card? (I've got 2 on order).

ST

PS - The 9800GT goes down to 1900PPD on those, and on the 353/384 is up to 2900PPD.

Yeah, the 511s are a huge PITA

My PPD drops to about 5500-5800 PPD on my GTX 295 cores with these and to about 3200 PPD on my 9800 GT

I get close to 6K average, maybe a little lower. Great folding card for the $$$. Performs well in gaming too. I am getting another for sli gaming and double the folding fun. Going to keep one of the 8800s running in the third slot for physx and extra folding ppd.

You crank the Shaders yet on that one or is that running Stock?

Looks like I made the right decision on those cards for sure!
