1024Mb per VM.

And follow the guide... it will show you how to configure.

QUESTION! Should I open up the .vmx file in notepad and change the mem usage, the name, etc. like in the 2nd guide? (Xtreme CPU)
I mainly followed the EVGA guide, but I did the memory thing fromt he 2nd guide.

It's working like a charm. Very easy.

Is your HT enabled? I heard that Enabling HT can make it fold even faster.

@3.0. You might wanna sticky this. Great folding guides =)

Yeah, HT totally enabled, *cough* FINALLY *cough* using all 8 cores! 4x2 core sessions means that it's like having 4 dual-core machines, but would it be faster if I had 1x8 core machine or 2x4 core machines? would it be faster?

I got it working again, now it's using the GROCVS core...Dunno about PPD yet because it hasn't been a day, but I will check back if I need any further troubleshooting. I'd like to thank all you guys who helped me out with this...Geo, 3.0, chrisk, and zlojack, major thanks!

ALRIGHTY! UPDATE! I am getting approx. 65 PPH/VM, around 1550 PPD per VM, I'm still not satisfied. I only have the stock cooler, would I be able to OC this to just 3GHZ without it overheating? Would I get a significant boost in PPD then? I know, I gotta get another HSF...waiting for a good sale to come around, I don't wanna pay $70+!

Whats the benefit to using (Quad Core Q6600) 2x2 clients vs say...setting it to 4 Cores in the configure, and only running one client?

It won't work

You have to do it the way it is in the guide.

Mine is at 3GHz right now on the stock cooler. Gets pretty warm but I figure if I fry this chip, it will just give me an excuse to get a D0

Anyway, at 3GHz I'm getting around 1800 PPD on each core

Ah, wicked. I think I may as well jump into it and then replace the stock cooler if I get nervous. Bleh, but I don't want to pay $360 again for a chip...unless it has warranty...but then again OC'ed i7's might not be covered. Do the VM's or folding apps have any problems with OC'ed CPU's? I was folding once on my Q6600 and it didn't like it, I actually got less PPD on my OC'ed Q6600 than the same one at stock speeds...

Anyway, at 3.4 I 'm getting around 1800 PPD on each core

Q6600 is giving me ~4500ppd. So about 1100 per core. Not bad compared to the 2700 I was getting before. Sounds about right?

My i7 folds 2 Vms good for ~2800 ppd. Each. So you definitely have a problem Imma PC.
