Not sure if anyone mentioned, but with VMWare player, you can set affinity and priority without third party tools. You just need to edit the folding.vmx file. Here is mine as an example:

This example forces one VM instance to run at idle priority, and use only CPU 0 and 1. My other instance has the same thing, but uses only processor 2 and 3 on my Q6600.

Code:
priority.ungrabbed = "idle"
processor2.use = "FALSE"
processor3.use = "FALSE"
So long as I have my GPU2 client to 'low' priority instead of idle, it doesn't seem to cause any GPU2 ppd issues.

lemonlime, do you have to add those lines in, or are they in there already?

They are not there by default. You just add them to the bottom of the file. Just be sure to use an editor like 'Notepad++' to preserve the file formatting.

This totally works!

All of you guys who are folding with i7s, use the following at the bottom:

priority.ungrabbed = "idle"
processor0.use = "FALSE"
processor1.use = "FALSE"
processor2.use = "FALSE"
processor3.use = "FALSE"
processor6.use = "FALSE"
processor7.use = "FALSE"

Then for each instance, just change the processor numbers! Great stuff, lemonline! Thanks for that!

I used Notepad from the Windows 7 Accessories menu for this.

Well as it turns out setting core affinity doesn't do anything, it just keeps on going with the same results. I'm going to go ahead and switch all the processes back to normal because really the situation hasn't improved.

This is not working out for me i need some instructions that even a chimp can understand

So far i follow the guide from evga and using FAHspy, but its reported as 149 PPD

Ok these were the steps i took.

1.Enable Virtualization on bios,
2.Download VMware 2.5.2 and install
3.downloaded step 2 from the evga guide and extracted folders as "q6600-1" + "q6600-2"
4.open up VMware from the "q6600-1" folder, reconfigure the client to 2 cpus, changed name and team #
5.open fahspy and type in the Fold.XXXX location and fahspy read it as 149PPD

system spec is in sig, with vista ult 32bit

Would i be able to use the GPU2 console for dual GPUs? i can only seem to find guides for the viewer client with 2 GPUs

Did you reset the clients, as stated in the guide?

As for dual GPU folding, you'd better use the Systray client, and follow this guide: Folding@home - WinGPUGuide. Scroll down to "Installation for a multi-GPU system".

how to you edit memory? i see no guide in that.

i did not find the mem set in the folder.

Code:
7) Open VMfold-1.vmx with your favorite text editor and make the following 3 changes:
  - change the line:
 memsize = "640"
     to
 memsize = "1152" <------- 1.125GB RAM (the A2 core has a tendency to stall out at the end of WUs if you run less than this)
