Confirmed. All four vmware-vmx.exe processes are at low, while GPU processes (F@H and FaHCore_11) are set to Normal.

The 700PPD drop was noticed one hour after re-setting the priorities for the vmware-vmx.exe's while working on the SAME WU as reported by fahspy

The drop is fine, but 4 -vmx.exe processes? I only have 1.

Then I have a problem with Prifinnity 2 then. I did add the -vmx.exe process manually to Low, but the Task Manager does show 4 instances at Normal...

Ah sorry, you meant in PriFinnity?

Yeah, in PriFinitty, for whatever reason, I can't set the -vmx processes. I just do it manually in Task Manager.

Just did so, manually too. 100 point drop per VM, but the 275s gained 600 points each...

I also set the core affinity for each one to two cores each.

Check. Just set core affinity to each -vmx.exe process to two cores each approximately one hour ago. The first VM (i7-1, appears first on the list out of all 4 VM's) is assigned to Core 0, 1, while the next one (i7-2) is set to 2, 3, and so on. No change in PPD noticed as of yet. PPD has risen to normal levels, perhaps due to a new WU.

Yup im having the same issues, its about trial and error and finding the perfect balance. I have an ATI 4870X2 that needs and uses alot of COU power to fold, about 27% actually, and when i turn on VM ware the PPD goes way down.

I am told that the nvidia cards do not use as much of the CPU, is that true? will a Pen. D be able to handle a 9800GX2 folding?

It will handle a 9800GTX2 folding. Just make sure you use the latest 18X.XX drivers so the CPU will not be required to feed the GPU core.

Man this thread derails so quickly. But then we get back on topic pretty quick too.
