Oh my, what fun!

Look what I got.....

I've gotten lots of "attempt to access beyond end of device" messages, but....

The line "Clocksource tsc unstable" is brand new. Could it be related to my RAID rebuilding?

I believe those 'attempt to access beyond end of device' errors are normal. nofred is working on a fix for that. It doesn't seem to impact my PPD, but I try to give the vmware clients a reboot every few days. Not sure about that clocksource error though. Haven't seen that one yet.

I get that exact same message on a good number of my VM's from day to day, like lemonlime said it doesn't affect your PPD. I just reboot and be done with it, until it happens again of course. I'm not running a RAID setup and it still happens to me so it's most likely not your RAID config, just a bug probably

Are you guys folding 24/7 with the Nofred client? Also what's your CPU usage with that client? Mine was at just 90%, 10% short of 100%.

Also, does anyone here turn their machine off when they sleep even though they run the VMWare SMP client? Reason I ask is because I've heard that the VMWare clients don't like it when you shut down and turn it on all the time.

I fold with it 24/7. Every machine I own does. It's the only way I can keep up with these crazy farm folding bastards

All 4 cores are at 100%.

My machine never turns off... think of the loss in PPD?!?!!! I listen to a GTX260 with 100% fan and SQUEALING the whole night. It's about 5 feet from my head too.

I'm probably going deaf at the 12000hz and up ranges listening to that

Mine is absolute 100% usage
I NEVER shut down the client or turn off my machine, unless it's an emergency or a power failure. 24/7/i7, baby!

I get about 6-7K PPD from my i7 alone, although normally its closer to 6K

I knew my luck with Vmware would last very long.... on the Folding rig, using Vista Premium 64bit.

Process_Has_Locked_Pages stop: 0x00000076 - BSOD. Removed Vmware, re-installed, re-extracted the original Folding folder, same BSOD. I know Vmware is fine if I start it on its own, the BSOD happens the second I start the VM from the Folding folder.

Googled it, found nothing related to Vista. A few occurences in XP (registry change to know which driver is the culprit, but doesn't work in Vista), but nothing related to that Notfred folding VM. Ran Memtest86, no errors. Raised voltages, same BSOD.

Ideas?

Which method of VMware are you using?

He means that site as the one from EVGA.
