Default question for you rosetta guru's

Computers belonging to Phobia

I set up my q6600 last night. I started BOINC at aroudn 11:15 last night. The pc is still on, but its getting very little points. Same with the e6600, it has been on since last night. Its on during the day from 7am-11pm. Neither of the cpu's are overclocked. I'm going to oc the q6600, I just didn't get a chance last night.
the 9650 isn't folding right now, and the 4200+ is only folding when my dad isn't using his computer during the day. Am I looking at the wrong thing, or what?

Actually, your Q6600 looks to be on par with mine Computers belonging to sswilson considering that mine is running at 3.75G.

I'm not completely satisfied with the points it's putting out, but haven't taken the time to see if a different FSB / Memclock combination would improve on it.

I think I see what you're looking at..... :)

If you look at the points / "task", you'll see that the Q6600 is getting a lot more. What you're probably looking at is the RAC which takes quite a while (at least a week, possibly more) to build up. I suspect your 4800+ has been running for quite a lot longer than the q6600 .

Are the Q6600 and 4800+ crunching the same WUs? I noticed that the time to completion of the WUs between both CPUs were almost the same (9000 to 10000 seconds), so the server may be assigning different WUs so that the time to complete matches whatever you picked in your preferences.

I know WU type makes a huge difference in FAH, with AMD and Intel CPUs trading places in PPD depending on the WU. I tried looking that the different WUs your computers crunched, but Rosetta WUs seem much harder to differentiate.

Most of the "tasks" in rosetta are designed to run about the the same amount of time. Points are awarded for how much work the cpu manages to get done in that period of time. (As opposed to FAH where the amount of "work" is defined, and a faster CPU/GPU will finish it faster.

The RAC is an average, but it's taken over a long period with the unregistered time scoring a big fat zero, so it takes a while to overcome that and get a good reading of long term RAC.

Click on the "results" link beside the computer you want to check. It will show you what points have been awarded for the tasks you've carried out. It will also show you how many individual tasks you've been able to carry out each day.

Phobia your RAC = your average points per day *over 2 weeks*. Even if you had a monster of a machine that did 20,000 points a day, the first day you run it it will only show 1,400 RAC, which will slowly rise, and if it produces results everyday, 24/7, only after 2 weeks would you see a 20,000 RAC reported.

I took a look at your credits per WU and it seems on par, once your RAC catches up(2 weeks or so) it should show you producing anywhere from 2,000 to 3,500 RAC. Understood?
