You are still better off with the GX2 for Folding, at least until the bigger WU's arrive. This from the same thread;

Not quite up to the GX2 yet, but it's better than wasting half your card...

We'll see about that next week, once the card, board, Ram and Quad arrive... and add a 9800GT to the mix!

Dedicated Folding rig.

When you're unemployed, you have to prioritize. But once cash started to flow again, the Wife said it was time for me to rebuild my rigs.

Done Honey!

Lucky you have a very understanding wife, the withdrawal symptoms must have been quite obvious...

It's my hobby, and she understands there is a price tagged to those components. Luckly, I can sell most of those parts with a profit.

But doing so I don't get to play with them anymore, and enjoy my hobby.

Yes, I'm back in Folding. The i7 rig will stay dedicated to Rosetta, but this new rig will (probably) be based on Ubuntu, with dual SMP Clients, and triple GPU Clients...

If you're going to jump back in you might as well make a big splash.

The native linux SMP client is supposed to make almost double the PPD thanks to the SMP2 core, can't wait for that to trickle down to windoze, either that or convert one of my rigs (or get another, ouch$)

I'll let you know how the ppd looks like. I've heard - read the same thing. And since I'll be building this one from scratch, I'll install a native Linux distro first, probably Ubuntu.
