Default Looking at upgrading for Folding

EVGA E-GEFORCE 9800GTX+ Sc 756MHZ 512MB 2.24GHZ is $197.99 at DirectCanada. Looking at getting possibly 2x of these. Reviews say they don't draw too much power and are pretty quiet.

or

EVGA E-GEFORCE GTX 260 Core 216 SSC 55NM 675MHZ 896MB 2.3GHZ is $332.77. Would only get 1x.

So what do you think? Also which board would you get if I choose 2x 9800GT+?

If you are upgrading for Folding the two 9800 GTX+'s will get you ~5500 to 7000 ppd each depending on WU and how much you overclock, Mine usually average ~12500+ ppd with the shaders at 1987 MHz. The 260 will do ~6000 to 7500 ppd.
So the two 9800 GTX+'s are better for Folding. Which board will depend on whether you want to SLI if you get the 9800's, I run mine on a P5Q-E which has been super stable, see my second rig in sig...YMMV

Yes, as long as it has two PCI-E slots. My P5Q-E has been running mine 24/7 since eary last october. SLI/ Crossfire is not used in Folding...

Accordind to posts on the F@H forums and elsewhere as long as it's 4x or higher it makes little or no difference for Folding...

So I could put 2x 9800GTX+ on my Gigabyte X48-DQ6 and I should be good to go right?

9800 GX2 is the best PPD per dollar, so consider that as well.

The best price I can see for one of those is about $450. Where 2x 9800GTX+ is just under $400 and $380 after rebate.
