You can get a start folding even on dialup but prolly only for lower pointage single core wu's unless you are only constrained by bandwidth, not connection time or consumption cost.

Or even by sneakernet for the bigger smp wu's as long as you have frequent enuf access to a higher speed connection via laptop, or using a thumbdrive and a suitable host pc.

These workarounds do take more work on your part. Let me know if you want to pursue it and we can figure out something that works for you. High speed access is easiest tho since it takes no extra work on your part once setup.

I'll be putting my other three computers onto this team starting this weekend, hopefully we'll get some new members to fill in the gaps.
Okay, Okay, I'll reinstall on the main and get the rest this WE.

IDK how long I will keep them up but for a month @ least.
1.3 and 2000+ will be 24/7 but not mine.

If anyone wanted to do up a newer FAQ, go hard and I will nuke mine.

If you can spare the time, once we make the top 2000 could you possibly post a set of links (I'm assuming they'd be permanent) for team stats?

I'll throw them up into a separate thread as a sticky at the top which will make it easy for folks to check our progress. (Or you could make the thread yourself if you wish and I'll just sticky it).

given the small size of the HCF team we need to try to keep everyone active, even if only a single core instance. If you run it from the startup folder (ie not as a service) it it easy to stop it (ctrl-c) whenever you need to and restart from an icon when rig is idle. Just take it out of the startup folder when you are doing stuff/rebooting a lot and all it will consume is a bit of disk space.

I thought you did a good job with it.
I will look it over again. A lot of the basics never really change ... just client selection really.
We could probably set up some how to's even if just by linking to other folding teams sites.

There should also be some new stuff when the V6 client comes out. I expect i will get an early look at it since i am a beta tester.

Yeah I know but the thing with these rigs is they are on 24/7 and unsupervized ( as in no Supergrover ) with no AC, and it gets hot like heck here.

*cough* Beta Testers have a NDA *cough*
