Was bored at work and thought I would check if my PS3 was still putting out points for HCF.... guess it hasn't been for a month or so. Guess I gotta check that next time I'm home from out of town. I see id has in the past chugged along crunching points, explains why my room hasn't been as warm as usual. (PS3 is on but F@H probably isnt running)

The extra points are certainly appreciated, but I think you did your giving when HWC was a fledgling team. Nothing like some seed points to get a team started!!!

Life is good, but busy. Parking the summer toy in the garage, gonna start to put together my semi-portable winter spaceheater :)

Trying to throw together a dual quad core xeon water cooled somewhat portable machine. As nice as my Dell M2010 has been for the last couple years Its getting old and I'd like to sell it while its still got some value. So I'm craming an Asus Z7S into a NZXT Rogue. Got all the parts I need except a PSU, and still modding the back and mobo tray to fit the board. I'll get it up and going on air while I price and pick my watercooling products. I need this to replace my former folding machine wich is now burning through the (once) expensive ram, I've had 3 of the 4 sticks die on me.

Not that I wish for a slowdown at work (oilfield land surveyor) but I've been on the same project since May '07 working 12hrs/day 10on 4off. If it were to slow down I could actually get the above machine built. It was an unexpected 2wk holiday almost 2 years ago that alowed me to complete the folding box in my sig.

AND HOLY CRAP has this site grown in the last year or so since I've been busy.

This is my first post here at the forum :)
I'm switching from another team that appears dead. Anyway, as soon as I get around to running -configonly on all of the console clients I have running in my house I should be listed :)

The folding setups I'm transferring over are:
- P4 2.4 GHz (later 478 Northwood HT off)
- 3 cores of a Phenom X4 9500
- 1 core of a C2D E6400

At the moment I'm actually using a pile of normal CPU clients to do folding. The Phenom rig is my parents' e-mail / browsing machine (you can see why I installed FAH on it) so it spends all but 4 hours a day off.

I'd love to fold with the Radeon 4850 in my C2D rig but it gave nothing but UNSTABLE_MACHINE once they started the 47XX work units. Still can't figure out what's wrong there... tried 2 versions of Windows and tested the hardware with:
- 8 hours of MemTest86
- 10 hours of BOINC + FurMark (couldn't believe I didn't see artifact after so long at 92-98 Celsius on the GPU)
- hdtune hard drive test

I'll give GPU / SMP another go when my Pentium 4 dies; that unmistakable smell of electronics failure is already coming from the hard drive
