I've also got a copy of MS Small Business Server Essentials that will suffice, but I'd imagine linux would do better ppd wise.

I really wish my parts would show up, or at least THE part thats missing to get things started.
I use Ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04 + Brain-****-Scheduler + theKraken. In regards to max PPD, my 3.6Ghz (L5639) dual hexcores yields about 165K PPD on P6901s with a typical TPF of around 11:10. My E5645s at 3.8Ghz yield something like 172K on P6901s and at 4.0Ghz it's about 180K PPD. Nowhere near the theoretical max of quad magny-cours (almost 400K PPD), but it's something.

I only got around to switching to linux during the chimps and didn't really encounter much problems (beyond the usual at least).

My System Specs

Smile F@H Team

Hi folks. I have a 9800 GX2 on a Q9300 system that's ready 2 go, but will likely need help getting it up and folding.

As soon as I can my get my daughter's new 980x running with my 580, it'll join in soon hopefully.

Now my rig has a # of bent pins as I dropped the cpu on the socket and haven't wanted 2 even look at it until I got the new pencil and magnifying goggles, besides having 2 finish my cry over my ROG III Formula.

Why are yours so much faster than mine? I keep my E5645s @ 3.6GHz and never see more than 132k ppd out of them. Also using BFS + TheKraken + Ubuntu 10.10.

Really hope I dont get sent out to work for the rest of the week, my mobo finally showed up and besides the case that completes the new build. Case needs mods anyways so I'd be happy to setup the system naked.
And quickly, when dual booting Win/Linux wich is best to install first? If I recall its windows, so that linux's boot loader controls the system startup after its installed 2nd....

Yeah, for initial testing.... eventualy it will be a 24/7 dedicated folder so I want it in the case that will be modified for it. Esthetic and temp reasons... have a ticket in to ncix as to the whereabouts of the case, 2wks and no tracking # yet for something that was "in stock", everything else from that order arrived already, even ram that was backordered.

Box the mobo came in is a very sturdy white box with pink packing foam. My only question is the cpu coolers and memory clearance, should clear but it'll be close.... even closer if the first banks are closest to the socket.

Under the G, 34.....
