Great job folks!!!, and good to see the PPD ramp back up for the fall/winter "I don't mind heating my house" season. (Although, some of us are still dealing with 30c+ temps.... ;) ).

On another related note..... I'm happy to report that my resurrected "baked" GTX280 has well over 600 units under it's belt, and seems to be working fine.
What is exactly "baking" your 280? Is it the oven trick?? If it is so, care to explain me how to do it I have a 9800gx2 that is no more booting... maybe I could resurrect it....

SMP up and Folding. i7 at 4ghz. Looks to be getting me 36k ppd. 2nd EVGA 460 on the way. I should be folding near to 60kPPD once it gets installed! I mean, its not Chriswarren style, but its only one folding box I just wish I could afford a 980 to fold with. God would that be nice!

The oven trick. Just youtube search it for more info. The basics are strip anything thats not the PCB (fans, grills, heatsink stuff, etc) and shove it in the oven at 400 for 8-12 min. Sometimes it helps solve solder issues (especially with early ROHS solder problems) and can bring a dead card back to life!

Yep, baking as in "the oven trick". :)

There's some discussion of the process in this thread (including a link to a vid)... http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...s-dell-pc.html , and I know we've got a post or two with external links to more detailed threads on the subject so a search of the forums might get you more information (or just do a google search).

Personally, I went with 385 (f) for 7 minutes, and even that melted/damaged the plastic "light transmitter" that goes from an led on the board to the back slot plate.

Worked for me though... I'd already tried everything with the card in an attempt to get it back up and running (would do 2D fine, but crapped out as soon as any 3D load was put on it) so I had nothing to lose.

I just passed 1 million!!!! WOOT!!!

I'm considering two things right now. Chasing down dangtx or taking a break and leave from folding for HWC. I wanna try and hit 2 mil at Legit Reviews before 2010 is over.

I'm also considering taking a month off from folding, to see how much it raises electricity costs. Of course, I gotta know when a new "bill cycle" is started for electricity, so we'll see what happens. But at the moment, still folding for HWC!

Good work team!

Nice to see that the MSI is all fine and dandy! I actually got it from sswilson, but I found out I have no need for it. Either way, glad to be of service!

They never really seem to warm my basement for some reason.. The cold air is just too crazy I guess.

Finally the heat is going away so I'm back to folding, I think I can be in for a good 20000 ppd. I'll have too look around to see if anything new went on during the summer...

If you use all the hardware in your signature, you could do a good 35-40k PPD if not more.

That is true, fixed sig only have 3 gtx 260s, not going to be oc'ing them since I leave it on all day and I'm not usually around to watch it; gets around 7000 ppd, maybe more depending on the wu's I get.

I might start the quad on smp again, but that seemed to need monitoring in the past.

Laptop... only if I wanted to fry it.
