You should be using the regular CPU client available on the main d/l page Folding@home - Download the Folding@home software application
The P4 probably wouldn't make the deadlines on the SMP client as it's designed for Quads...

I'm kinda dissapointed at the ppd from my 8 core Xeon.... 2x SMP and 1x ATI GPU, can someone confirm or deny if you have dual vid cards in non sli/crossfire, do you need a monitor connected to each to fold?

Dual card need dual monitors. But why only 2 SMP clients? You could run 4 clients.

Been watching the usage and temps, 1smp and 1gpu is about 60% and mid 60c temps (air) adding a second smp takes it up to 100% high 70c and slows down the other smp and gpu clients.... I suppose I could try it, I'm just not able to sit and watch it so I'm trying to first build up the OC to somewhat reliable levels (3.16-->3.55 so far, over 3.6 seems to randomly crash within a day or so) I'm thinking along the lines of 2x2500pps is better then 4x1000ppd, and the later would have poorer gpu ppd as well.

If you limit your SMP clients to ~97-98% CPU usage it should leave enough free for the GPU, depending on your O/S...
As 3.0charlie said if you want to run more than one GPU client, you need a monitor for each, or at least a dummy plug. Don't forget to extend your desktop and use the -local flag...

It's the new 511 point WU's, the lower the number of SP's on a card, the bigger the effect on the PPD it seems. Don't feel bad tho it's nailing everybody, my GTX+'s are down from ~6150 ppd to maybe ~4300 ppd with those WU's. You should read some of the whining on other forums, you would think Hell Had frozen over. The guys I feel bad for are the guys running farms with 10 to 15+ GPU's, you think your getting raped, Ouch . At least the 384pt ones are almost as good as the 480's and actually use the CPU less, my SMP ppd goes up ~100 to 150 ppd.
