Interesting - could it be related to the fact that you are using XP? Precision fixed my issue. Weird. Also, that's some nice ppd from that card! Mine do ~6300 for a 511, and ~8100 for a 768.

SG, welcome to the pool!

Hrmm.... might not be stable, or it might be something silly relating to what happens when the screen saver goes up.

It threw the 768 out just under 50%, but that coincided exactly with when the screen saver kicked in.... more testing to follow. :)

Currently running a 353 point WU and it's showing 9242 PPD. We'll see if that goes well. :)

Damn... ~9200 ppd... Fan speed? Temps?

Since I've been folding, I've disabled the screen saver. I simply close the screen using the power button.

If these clocks/fanspeeds hold up stable I'll set the fanspeed manually to 50% to bring the temps down a little bit more.

Made it through that short WU with no problems (still reading 9242 PPD) and fortunately got a 768 immediately afterwards which hopefully will give me an idea if the screensaver was the issue the last time.

I've seen some suggestions that it might still drop down to 2D even though the clocks stay the same, but that 2D operation might not be supplying as much voltage to the cores. I did see some fluctuations in the sensor supply voltage reported by riva tuner when I returned from screensaver mode, and before I enabled that "force performance 3D" setting in Riva tuner I was seeing some fairly wide fluctuations in PPD from checkpoint to checkpoint, but now it seems to be rock solid.

I've turned off the screensaver, but set the monitor to go into powersaving mode after XX minutes and that seems to be working so far. We'll see. :)

Currently 768 WU looks like it's getting 8617 PPD with 84c & 45% duty cycle on the fan (1550 RPM).

Had to dial down the OC a bit on the card. Folded overnight, and into the afternoon today without any issues so I think I've got it dialed in pretty good.

Currently running a 511 WU for 6689 PPD, and it the last 768 was putting out just over 8500 so I'm pretty happy with that. :)

Now it's time to move the 8800GTS over to my test bed and start folding with that one.... :)
