They are back up again, for how long who knows. That's why I went back to SMP Folding, Boinc outages were happening too often. I do sneak some R@H and Seti in every now and then.

We're up and running again. Sorry for the extended downtime. We ran into some issues while trying to tune the new database server. -DK

Looks like it's back up again. For future reference though... if it looks like your tasks are piling up you can have a look at the messages tab in the boinc client. (That's where I got the "server down for maintenance" message).

On another note.... I wish boinc had a "revert to if" function that would automatically go down a list of projects to run if the primary project craps out.

You could adjust the projects Resource Share. If R@H is set at something like a 1000, and Seti is set at 10 it shouldn't download any Seti unless R@H runs out. Even if it does d/l a Seti project they don't take long. I turned off those Astropulse 5.0 projects because I only run Boinc for 6-8 hrs at a time and they take way too long...

A few weeks ago when i started Boinc for the first time on this new pc, it crashed and i could not make it work. So i waited...

Reinstalled Boinc today, started it, and wonders, it's running fine now doing Rosetta for the team on 3 cores along with F@H with the GPU.

3.0Charlie, what Nvidia driver are you using for your 260's? I tried 182.08 last night on my new SSC, kept erroring out after 3-4%.

I haven't checked the progress on my computers in a while. I just switched OS's on my main machine and my htpc so I was setting them up again. I could not get the latest version to work, keeps telling me 'can't read the file' or something or other... and that's on a few machines with different DL's and different OS's in different locations so it's gotta be a problem with that file on the BOINC site (that was ~ a week ago). I installed the previous version and it went just fine but then the servers were down. I should get 'em going tonight though.
