Default questions.

Ok.....

I finally cleaned up my 8800GTX and am folding with it.(finally)

I've got some questions I did'nt see answered , so here they are.

I'm using the latest GPU2 client , on forceware 175 drivers.I'm not using the latest drivers , because with my duallies (2 separate video cards) I need drivers that do both an FX5500 and and 8800GTX......The 180's (latest forceware) won't.

I am running with no OC.

I assume the 'lag' when starting/stopping "Fahviewer" is expected ?

What is ns/day under 'performance' ?

TYIA

Euhhh... which GPU client are you using? 'cause I never saw a Performance tab...

Don't use the viewer, it's bugged.

Make sure you have Physx installed, and oc strictly the shaders for max. ppd.

The latest gpu2 client.620r1

The performance thing comes up with fahviewer....If it's buggy , that would explain it.Is there an alternative ?

I'm not OC'ing it.....

Which GPU client, the System Tray or the Console? I think you're using the System tray.

I don't even now what does the viewer... if you which to see your ppd, use FahMon.

Glad to hear your getting your GPU going, you'll like the points. Performance: ns/day is one of the stats shown on the viewer available on the Systray client. From what I've read on the F@H forums the console client is supposed to be more stable and use slightly less resources, I use both and don't see much of a difference...
Home | FahMon for monitering your client, new posts in the fahmon thread suggest the new update might be a little buggy...
I use FahSpy - FahSpy - powerful monitoring tool for Folding@Home distributed computing just personel preference...

When you're trying to set up FAHMon point it towards the same folder as is listed in your FAH start/programs (expert only) data files.

Btw to add to only overclocking the shaders, Run with vista as it uses less cpu resources and you can underclock your cpu i have mine at 1.6 and i see no performance hit. Cheers and welcome back. We need more for the fight!

The Systray Client works fine, but I like being able to see the Client log in real time when using the Console version. How's the temps on the 8800GTX?
