Default Ram overclock and Boinc

Now That I an pretty happy with my Qx9650 overclock I was wondering if ram overclocking does something to your crunching RAC. A

nybody has some input on this ? Should I focus on total MHZ speed or try to better latency ? I'll be looking areound the web, but was wondering if someone has some info to jump start my research.

I dout overclocking your ram would really make any change... even if there was a slight pts increase it wouldn't be noticable. You can always try... and see if it makes a difference, but really points fluctuate based on the WU you get anyways, so you really would never be able to tell if it did help anyways.

Overclocking your CPU makes a noticeable difference though.

ps. what is your screen name in boinc?

Default Sreen name

My screen name is Mathieu

I cant find the exact post, but I remember seeing a post by someone in XS forum that you could get as up to 5-10% upgrade by tweaking the Memory. I'll continue to look.

To try to diminush the individual WU impact, I was thinking of taking a snignificant amount of completed task (something like one week work)and calculte an average.

My System Specs

Default

Not specific to boinc, but I suspect tweaking your memory will make a difference, how large of one remains to be seen.

Using super-pi as a benchmark I find tweaking memory can easily provide a 10 - 15% improvement to scores.

As far as faster clocks vrs tighter timings goes.... I've never been able to see a marked benefit either way, my experience has been that it normally depends on the best "fit" for your FSB / CPU setup.
