ASRock P45 & P43 Based Motherboards Unveiled

Today, ASRock let Hardware Canucks get a very quick and tantalizing glimpse at their upcoming P45 and P43 boards for Intel 775 processors. While neither of these could be considered a particularly high-end product, they both have some very interesting features like compatibility with both DDR2 and DDR3 ram. Unfortunately, we do not have the complete specifications as of yet but this small article will be updated with ALL relevant information as it becomes available to us. Below is some of the preliminary information that was handed to us.

ASRock P45R2000-WiFi

First of all, lets take a look at the new P45R2000-WiFi P45-based board. This is geared towards the mid-end market while offering features which were only dreamed of with past P35-based boards like PCI-E 2.0 slots and 8x / 8x Crossfire. At this time we don’t have much in the way of pricing (stay tuned) but if we had to guess we would say that the MSRP will probably be set at less than $150 at launch.

ASRock P43R1600Twins-WiFi

In the lower-end we have the P43R1600Twins-WiFi which also makes the PCI-E 2.0 spec available to the masses but this time there is only a single PCI-E 16x slot. Other than that this board is ready for 1600Mhz FSB processors and unlike ASRock motherboards of the past, comes with all solid capacitors. Here we once again see that ASRock has decked out even their entry level board with a combination of DDR2 and DDR3 slots. There is also a tantalizing clue as to other P43-based boards at the end of the Energy Savings page below. It looks like we will see the following P43-based boards from ASRock:
