We’ve been reviewing quite a few cases lately and they’ve really run the gamut from the unique (seriously, what else can we call it?) Lian Li Cowry to the ultra high end, feature packed Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower. Fractal Design meanwhile has been busy reinvigorating their lineup by introducing some new blood like the Arc Midi Tower and a new full tower case which is aptly named the Define XL.

Upon first glance, the Define XL has all of the hallmarks of a well designed, spacious case with a great price of just $149. What you won’t get here are flashy looks or glowing lights since Fractal’s design mantra has taken hold in full force. The XL has a plain, unassuming exterior and no nonsense interior but there are still some noteworthy highlights like acoustical dampening and a number of high quality pre installed fans but very few water cooling options. Unfortunately, the inexpensive price point means this case just can’t stack up to more expensive competition in some areas but that doesn’t detract from the fact that Fractal’s Define series offers excellent value in a crowded market.
