With a full stable of cases, Corsair has been well placed in the enthusiast enclosure market but they didnít have anything to compete with the more budget friendly Cooler Master 690II and Thermaltake Elements of this world. Now things are about to change since the $99 400R is about to be introduced. This promises to continue Corsairís tradition of well designed, high quality cases but at an ultra low price point.

But what does $99 really give you from a mid tower Corsair case? Believe it or not, a surprisingly long list of features. While its overall looks may be considered too drab for some, the Carbide 400R includes mounting locations for dual fan water cooling radiators, enough interior space to install any graphics card and plenty of fan locations to keep things running cool.

In order to reach that $99 price point, some corners had to be cut but Corsair still considers this a class leading chassis. But does it have what it takes to compete against some of its more entrenched competitors?
