Every once in a while, a program comes out that catches our attention and this time it was Cyberlink's new YouCam 5. Now it may not be the most interesting piece of software every created nor is it particularly useful for those of you who only want the standard features built into most online video chatting applications. However, YouCam 5 does deliver a broad range of add-ons that will likely take your chat sessions to the next level and even adds a good helping of capabilities that will appeal to professionals.

Aside from a long list of cool effects, conferencing options and security additions is one small speed bump: YouCam 5 costs between $35 for the Standard version and $45 for the upper-tier Deluxe package. To many people, that could be more than they're willing to stomach but is there enough here to justify the cost?
