Northern California, Castro Valley-based NMEDIA SYSTEM, INC. was founded in 2004. The company's vision is to create future home entertainment PC systems that are optimal for today's consumer electronic gear such as Plasmas TV, LCD TV, HDTV and Home Theater Projectors. They are leaders in the HTPC market and offer value-oriented products which run the gamut from power supplies to cases and mice. In the past we reviewed their HTPC-600BAR and 400BA HTPC cases and in both instances found their products to be of reasonably high quality for something so well priced.

Today we will be looking at their MCEKB wireless keyboard with built-in trackball mouse. Like the name suggest quite plainly, this is their Microsoft Media Center Keyboard. It is priced at an incredible $50CAD even though it seems to have all of the features you could possibly want in a media center keyboard. Usually a wireless keyboard with a price of under $70 raises some red flags for us but nMedia has proven in the past that they can get the job done.

At first glance, it looks like it will get the job done but how well does it function? Will the nMedia MCEKB run into the connection issues that plague countless wireless keyboards and mice? After some of my wireless experiences, I’ll keep my fingers crossed…
