nMedia 2.4GHz Wireless Media Keyboard Review

Specifications

Packaging and Accessories

The packaging for the nMedia MCE keyboard was a world apart from the past nMedia cases we reviewed here at Hardware Canucks; while their boxes were plain brown, this keyboard was in a box that was far more retail shelf friendly. However, other than the few indicators that this is a wireless keyboard, there is nothing here that would set it apart from a generic keyboard. The interior protection doesn't even warrant a picture since it conists of a plastic bag which is the only thing that stands between the keyboard and the flimsy cardboard box.

The accessories were few and far between but remember, this IS a $50 wireless keyboard so cost-cutting has to come in somewhere. One way or another, this is only a wireless keyboard so all it needs is a wireless receiver. However, nMedia included a pair of AA batteries in addition to the USB wireless dongle (which is supposed to give this keyboard a range of 40 feet) and a simple but to the point instruction pamphlet. Since this keyboard is a simple plug-and-play affair, there is no driver CD included.
