Xion Dazl Case Review

Installation

Now there may be a bit of a wire jungle in this case but a more important piece of information can be derived from this picture with hardware installed: No where inside will you find a drop of blood. Yes, a potentially gory detail but a cheap case is more likely to cut you on a sharp edge even if you are careful. Therefore, I fully applaud this case for not drawing my blood despite the fact it’s in me to give.

The hard drive does overlap the motherboard for a couple inches, which could limit the potential number of hard drives if you are using a long video card that occupies two slots.

An indent on the rear case edge provides easy access to installing cards. Since both side panels come off, installation was almost hassle-free. Not once did the case feel confining while installing hardware. The only part that proved to be finicky was installing the front panel since it relies on plastic clips that tend to stay open. Removing the case door was necessary to install the optical drive that I had.

Conclusion

Overall, I would say this case reminds me of one of the first cases I got when starting out building computers a few years ago. I was impressed by the design of the front door and innovation presented there. Xion put effort into the parts that matter, what you actually see and use on a daily basis, then left the rest as good enough, which is somewhat acceptable. This case succeeds in serving the young gamer market as a relatively low-cost case with a power supply but those with more disposable income are unlikely to consider this case when building a PC.

The Dazl is worth taking a look at if you are in the market for a sub $100 gaming case. Hopefully, Xion will keep adding small innovations to their cases in the future.

Pros:

-Did not draw blood (always a plus!)
-Innovative translucent door with magnet latch
-Decently priced with 450w PSU included

Cons:

-Interior seems cheap
-Limited air flow
-A “case” of you get what you pay for

Thanks to Xion for this review unit.
