| Long Term Testing and Modding Options Long Term Testing I spent about two months with this card prior to doing the review. This offering was very solid causing no errors or audio anomolies of any type I could recognize or recreate. There were no instances of snapping, crackling or popping. I did a fair bit of recording with this card using a external 12 channel mixer, guitar and effects and it performed admirably. Tracks recorded were clear and the card was very transparent in the recordings without alot of noticeable coloration. Many modern and past audio cards will have exceptional playback but recording ability will suffer. Both the playback and the recording features on the Xonar proved top notch through the entire two month period. All in all, this card performed above and beyond the call of duty and was completely solid every time I went to use it. Modding Options The main modding options I can see with this card are to remove the 4580 opamps and replace them with a better quality unit with more clarity and a higher slew rate. Capacitor modding and replacement is also an option. | ||
